Filter block for query addon

in progress
April 13, 2024

It has been discoussed before, and I think it is on the todo list. But I\’d also like to post it here, because I think currently this is the biggest shortcoming of GS, and the query and repeater builders would only be fully functional from this block, so i hope it will be implemented as soon as possible. This block is a versatile faceted filter block for the query addon.
There are a few basic features that are essential for the block to work, and which I hope will be implemented anyway:
– it can be placed anywhere on a page and can be linked to any query or repeater builder on the page (and i hope to dynamic map as well – for this see below)
– has an instant search function
– the block would have several filter types to choose. I think the most important and common used filter types are: checkbox, radio, select (it would be useful to have an optional hierarchical and searchable \”fancy select\” solution for this, like fSelect), range filter, and maybe some options to add special label types like images, colors, etc
– the filters would be fully custumizable (color, background, border, font, etc) and also for hover and focus states

In addition to these, it would open up amazing possibilities if these filters could be linked not only to the query block but also to the dynamic map block. So you could really build listings like airbnb or whatever you can imagine.

With this improvement, the query addon would become complete and the GS ecosystem would become the most versatile, almost truly all-purpose solution!

What do you think?

Map is currently not in plan because GS has no Map listing block. For other – yes, this is in plans and already in work

I see that essentially the same request has been made here about map filtering: https://shop.greenshiftwp.com/request/map-listing/

Couldn’t the development of the two functions be merged somehow? I think it would be more than awesome!

Will it have postmeta range filters? from ACF values (numbers) for example?
