MAP Block: Google Maps without API

There is a simple plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-map-block/ that offers showing locations on Google Maps without API. It tested it and it works.

Maybe you can add an option for no API \”Simple Google Map\” to the Map Block for showing just a map with marker/s? It would be more convenient than using iframe.

99% of the time we need just that.

    Map block already has option for OpenStreetMaps. This is exactly for this case – it doesn’t require API key

    Sorry, but OpenStreetMap looks like Google Maps’ poor cousin. It looks bad and it’s not something people are used to. Even the regular embed is better, but I was hoping GS would give us that option.

    I agree with Jan Gransort that the interface of OpenStreetMap doesn’t quite match the visual polish of Google Maps.

    Additionally, Google provides region-specific map displays, which is important for avoiding sensitive issues related to territorial disputes between countries

    That level of customization and global familiarity makes a significant difference in user experience.
