SEO crawl not picking up Size Attributes Set

6

Hi,

I recently built a website for a client and their SEO specialist requested Image Size Attributes to be set to images that are missing them.

The usual approach which I take to set the size attributes is to add width & height sizes in Dynamic Attributes for each image and let the CSS handle the max height & width.

When I inspect the element & page source of an image that I have set the Dynamic Attribute size, it is showing me that it is assigning the size attribute from what I can tell.

Some of the images which are not getting size attributes attached to them are withing Query Loop Builder blocks and the rest are just normal Image element blocks.

Can you please let me know if this is the correct approach and if not, what I can do to set the size attributes correctly.

Please see the attached screenshots for reference.

  1. different blocks use different approaches for images. If you need 100% image block, use Image Element. It sets size of images. As I remember, this has zero affect on SEO. It can affect only if you set big size on image that are scaled down because you placed it in small container

So i am only using the Image Element Block and have set the local style width to 100%. The images themselves generally are bigger and have been scalled down. For instance in the screenshots above, the image is dynamically pulling from the feature image of a Custom Post Type and the image size for that is 1920 x 1080 px, but in the menu, the size of the image is width: 325px & height: 109px.

I hope this gives a bit more clarification, so you can provide a answer/solution

  3. then I don’t get which problem you have. Set image to be size that you have in container. From SEO point, this of course, will not help. If you need 100% correct, you must change image physically. WordPress has image editor. Scale image there

  4. if you need in query and can’t rescale image, then you need to register size of image that close to size in query block and then select it in source of featured image. Usually themes already have such size registered

Well the problem is that I am using a image that is being pulled dynamically from a Feature image from a Custom Post Type. I cannot resize the image to the exact scale, because then on the Custom Post Type post, the feature image would display in the wrong size

    1. You can select size source in Image block. All dynamic image blocks show size select
